Gabriel Giolito de' Ferrari was an important Venetian bookseller, printer, and publisher. He is best known for publishing books in Italian, for being one of the first publishers to print books in series, and for his printer's device featuring a phoenix rising from flames.

Expected wear and discoloration to vellum, label rubbed with title faded, corners and head and tail of spine gently rubbed, slight separation from textblock with binding still sturdy; paste-down endpapers with small tears and slight separation from boards, front paste-down with bookplate; pages toned with occasional stains, ink marks, and small corner or margin losses not impacting text, small wormhole at inner margins and bottom edge of several gatherings, final gatherings with light damp staining at bottom edge; 2G1-2H8 with small corner repair, *2 with repair, title page through *4 extended. An overall good copy of this book dating to a significant and productive time in Venetian printing history.
