Vincenzo Batelli (Florence, 1786-1858) was an important Italian printer known for publishing editions of the works of Ovid, Manzoni, and many others. Manzoni's I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed) was first published in 1827, with Batelli's extremely popular reprint of the novel published the same year.

Boards with edgewear, corners rubbed, spines near pristine; pages lightly toned with foxing, occasional minor fold, crease, tear, or stain. A very good and complete set of this significant edition.
