William Gustav and Andrew Joseph Thuss were active together in Nashville Tennessee from 1889 to 1917, operating a studio on McGavock Block on Cherry. Together they won many awards and photographed many dignitaries. In 1897 they operated a studio at the Tennessee Centennial Exposition and took souvenir photographs for fair visitors. They began operating independent studios on 4th and 5th Avenue in 1917.
