Tang dynasty style, earthenware with pigments, a seated male rider with arms lifted as to hold the reigns of the horse he sits upon, his face is turned to one side, the horse is tall with muscular legs, but more petite body, its head is positioned as at rest, the rider sits on a patterned blanket, the sculpture rises from a rectangular plinth, comes together with a custom carved wooden stand.

DOA 19 x 12 x 6 1/2 in.

Good estate condition; some nicks with loss to both ears of the horse; corners of plinth are angled perhaps from loss.
