Woodblock print, original printed in 1931, this is a later edition printed by Doi Hangaten using the original blocks, signed Hasui together with red seal Sui to lower right corner of print, title and original date to lower right margin, publisher mark to left hand margin, presented under glass with mat in gilt wood key fret frame.

Frame dimensions 23 x 18 1/4 in.

Hasui Kawase was one of the leaders of the Shin Hanga movement in Japan. He focused on making prints that illustrated the beauty of Japan's natural landscapes with special emphasis on seasonal color and light effects of sunrise, sunset, rain and snow. He received the high honor of being named "A Living National Treasure" in 1956 for his contributions to the arts.
