Qianlong period (1736-95), includes two porcelain plates with coat of arms to center, the first with a crest having a black cross with gilt circles against a white ground and topped by two birds, the wide rim is decorated with floral garland, and a plate with large purple and black cret surrounded by white and red plumes, wide rim is reticulated.

The reticulated dish 9 3/4 in. diameter.; the smaller dish 9 in. diameter

Private Collection, Virginia Beach, Virginia Collected by the consignor and her husband with the guidance of David Sanctuary Howard, who literally wrote the book on Chinese Armorial porcelain. The couple began collecting during the 1970s from galleries and auction houses across Europe and the United States, and even from Howard himself. This collection is a very special offering of some rare and wonderful pieces collected over a lifetime with great care and passion.

The reticulated dish with hairline to the rim and chip to the footrim; the other dish with repair through the center; rubbing and chip to the foot rim.
