Qianlong period (1736-95), includes two porcelain plates, the first hand painted to the center with large coat of arms of Yonge family of Colyton in Devon, the wide rim is decorated with blue and gilt pattern borders, and the second hand painted with ornate coat of arms having a black and white divided ground populated by lions, a unicorn tops the crest, the wide rim is decorated with blue pattern with shaped reserves populated by gilt floral sprays.

The first 8 1/4 in. diameter.; the second 8 3/4 in. diameter

Private Collection, Virginia Beach, Virginia Collected by the consignor and her husband with the guidance of David Sanctuary Howard, who literally wrote the book on Chinese Armorial porcelain. The couple began collecting during the 1970s from galleries and auction houses across Europe and the United States, and even from Howard himself. This collection is a very special offering of some rare and wonderful pieces collected over a lifetime with great care and passion.
