Republic period (1912-1949), coral ground porcelain vase hand painted in gold with bamboo, chrysanthemums, and quails, bearing an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark in iron red to the underside, comes together with a carved wooden stand.


9 1/2 in., with stand 10 1/2 in.

From the collection of Thomas English Cody (1889-1948), the great nephew of Buffalo Bill Cody, and by family descent.

Some rubbing with loss to gilt; mouth with some speckles to glaze either from kiln firing or later restoration.
