Includes a floor urn, Meiji period (1868-1912), and vintage lotus stalks and blossoms depicting the life cycle of a lotus blossom, the Japanese bronze urn has a rich reddish brown patina, large bell mouth, the body is flanked by phoenix handles, the neck and body are cast with cranes and fauna in relief and incised swirling clouds, raised from the base on three cherry blossom branch feet with blooms above. This type of vase would have been placed as a pair flanking the altar of a Buddhist temple in Japan.
