19th century, Mandalay style, carved from a single block of alabaster marble, sculpture retaining to the back some of the original gilt lacquer paint, the front with scattered traces of gilt and reddish pink, a finely carved face, the Buddha sits with one hand at waist and one hand touching the earth, the bhumisparsha mudra position of calling the earth to witness his enlightenment, rough marble to underside and lower back, comes together with black stand and Authentication Certificate from Ubon's Masterpiece, Bangkok.

DOA 40 1/2 x 29 x 18 1/2 in., Buddha only 36 1/2 x 27 1/2 x 16 1/2 in.

Very good estate condition; with roughness to marble on underside and back of base.
