Dao Hai Phong is a world-renowned contemporary artist. Born in 1965, Phong started painting at the age of six. Phong graduated from Hanoi College of Film and Theatre in 1987 and had a successful career as Chief Designer of the Vietnam Film Studio. In the early 1990s, he focused on developing his unique painting style. Phong is famous for his paintings of Hanoi and its surrounding villages, bringing his memories and dreams of his childhood to life, a mixture of happiness and melancholy. His exquisite landscapes are bright and bold featuring voluminous trees as symbols of life and strength presented in a manner that confers a sense of tranquility and serenity to the viewer.

Phong has staged several solo and group exhibitions in Vietnam and overseas in Hong Kong, Singapore, Laos, Thailand, Japan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the United States. Dao Hai Phong is considered one of the finest artists of Vietnam’s Contemporary Art movement.
