The William IV cover with "WE" maker's mark and London (1837) hallmarks, a finely cast model of a jockey's cap and crops atop a square 'silk,' the cover further embellished with cast and applied grapevine border beneath domed cap and floral and foliate border to rim; the cup with scrolling acanthus handles and further foliate embellishment applied and chased to the waist of the cup, the cup supported atop a stem with egg and dart motif and raised on circular form with inset acorn and oak leaf border, engraved "Heavy Weight Steeple Chase / Country Club / Pelham Oct. 18th. 1884 / Won By / Dundee" to cup and "Presented by the / President of the Club" to foot, unmarked (XRF testing up to 92.5 silver).
