Three (3) Silver Denarii of Julia Domna, wife of Septimius Severus (193-217 A.D.)

All with obverse portrait, the reverses as follows: Ceres std. left; Isis std. left suckling the infant Harpokrates; Vesta standing. The first two coins are in Extremely Fine condition; the Vesta is somewhat porous, but details are clear.

All coins being offered are from a scholarly numismatic cabinet that was one collector's passion for over twenty years. Starting the collection around 1990, he went on to amass over 2,000 coins representing many of the ancient cultures that flourished from Britain to India. Every coin from this collection is fully attributed in manuscript on its own unique 2x2 envelope.
