Meiji (1868-1912), a large globular shaped vase attributed to Hayashi Kodenji (1831-1915) or his son Hayashi Kodenji II (1859-1922), the deep blue ground of this vase has been decorated with large purple morning glory blossoms and green leaves, a small tight circular patterned band is featured above the foot and a narrow band is below the mouth rim, has a liner to the neck, underside has a floriate paulownia seal in white enamels against the same deep blue ground.

The paulownia seal mark may indicate the vase was made for a private commission.

Overall very good condition; some wear to interior rim from liner; some wear to mount surface; a few very minor light scratches.
