Known for his expertly crafted waterfowl decoys, Burgess blended utility with artistry, creating pieces prized for their lifelike form and functionality. His work exemplifies the rich duck hunting culture of North Carolina's Currituck Sound and remains highly sought after by collectors and historians especially those with his original paint. Redheads by Ned Burgess are much more rare than his canvasbacks. They are also smaller and have an attractive flow about them.
