Former collection of John Weaver, a game warden from Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.
Produced from the late 19th to early 20th century. These decoys are characterized by their utilitarian design, aimed at durability and affordability for hunters. The painted eyes, as opposed to glass eyes found on higher-grade models, reflect their simpler craftsmanship. Despite their modest features, they retain realistic hand-painted details, capturing the essence of various bird species.
Original paint with light gunning wear, majority of neck filler is missing, drake hit by shot, light coat of varnish on each.
