In 1977, The Eagles challenged Rolling Stone Magazine to a softball game after the magazine writers joked about the band's athletic skills. Rolling Stone accepted the challenge, and the game was scheduled for May 1978 at Dedeaux Field on the University of Southern California campus. As a positive spin on the challenge, the losing team would make a $5,000 donation to UNICEF.
When the Rolling Stone Magazine players flew in from New York arriving at California's Dedaux Field, the stands were filled with friends cheering on the Eagles, including celebrities Chevy Chase and Joni Mitchell. The Eagles won the game 15-8, and both teams celebrated afterwards at Dan Tana's Restaurant in West Hollywood. This photograph by legendary rock photographer, Andrew Kent, captures Glenn Frey of the Eagles celebrating the victory.
Very good condition; some negligible, slight sheet waviness.
