A Large Japanese Gilt Lacquered Tortoiseshell Bowl

Meiji Period (1868-1912), unsigned, of round lobed form with round foot, featuring gilt decorated view of a moonlit garden stream with flowering tree and two courting waterfowl, with mother of pearl accents, comes together with a carved rosewood display stand.

Bowl 2 1/2 x 13 5/8 in. diameter; stand 8 x 12 x 12 in.
