Serial number 86871 on right side of receiver, 23.5 in. blued barrel marked MANUFACTURED BY SAVAGE ARMS CORP. UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A. / SAVAGE SPORTER / 22 - LONG RIFLE with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight, removable magazine, walnut stock with original buttplate.

Overall good estate condition, barrel has minor oxidation and surface scratches, stock has field marks from age and use, buttstock has missing wood at toe, buttstock finish has some heat crazing, bore has hazy shine with strong rifling.
