A Large Japanese Quatrefoil Shaped Satsuma Jardiniere

Meiji period (1868-1912), 19th century, quatrefoil shaped planter with wide flat rims and foot, lobed sides hand painted in very fine detail with a group of elegant ladies in lavish kimonos to one side and the other side with little boys frolicking at play in a garden, unmarked to underside.

6 1/2 x 12 1/2 x 9 1/8 in.

Good estate condition; some rubbling with loss to gilt on rim and above foot.
