Matching serial number of 15968 present on water table, barrel, forend iron, and trigger guard, nitro proof to 1 1/8 oz, 28 in. fluid steel barrel with single front bead, maker marked WILLIAM EVANS. 63. PALL MALL, ST. JAMES LONDON.", ejectors, double trigger, complete coverage engraving, bushed firing pins, gold inlay "SAFE", WILLIAM EVANS present on sideplates, straight grip, figured walnut stock, metal heel and toe caps with checkered center.

Oak canvas covered case devoid of maker label, cleaning rod with brass accessories, rotating case lock work functional, leather straps are intact, leather handle strap broken, included postcard correspondence between owner and gunsmith.

Barrel bluing in good condition with scattered light wear areas present, stock checkering and drop points worn but present, stock inlay medallion is clear, some tarnishing on butt heel and toe caps. Minor small chipping around circumference of wood butt. Barrels have been reproved at their current diameters.
