A Pair of Chinese Carved Jade Table Screen Lamps

Oval reticulated hardstone, panels carved in mirror image of two figures against a flower and scrolling tendrils ground, set into carved hardwood screen and base fitted into bronze ormolu mounts, fitted with old lights to illuminate the jade from behind.

From the collection of Thomas English Cody (1889-1948), the great nephew of Buffalo Bill Cody, and by family descent.

Very good condition; one wood frame with a break at the top.
