Qing dynasty (1644-1912), early 19th century, rectangular form with hand painted figural scenes to the inset paneled cabinet doors, phoenix with peony flowers to the sides and top, all with black lacquer and gilt border, iron hinges and handles, the base is black lacquered with a gilt lattice and floral motif raised on short cabriole legs.

Cabinet with stand 40 1/2 x 36 1/2 x 24 in.

From the collection of Thomas English Cody (1889-1948), the great nephew of Buffalo Bill Cody, and by family descent.

Wear with cracking and lifting to lacquer with some loss to lacquer and wood, especially on top and edges.
