Edo period (1615-1868), the first, 19th century, stoneware, Seto ware with Tenmoku glaze, Japanese characters incised to underside, with ivory lid (4 1/4 in., 2 1/2 in. diameter)(chip to rim of ivory lid), the second, 18th or 19th century, stoneware, Seto ware with iron glaze, a Japanese character incised to underside, with ivory lid (2 3/4 in., 2 1/2 in. diameter)(good estate condition).
