Produced from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, was part of the renowned LC Smith line of American-made double-barrel shotguns. Known for its solid construction, reliability, and smooth action, the Field Grade was a popular choice for hunting large game and waterfowl. While it was a more affordable option compared to higher-grade models, it still offered exceptional performance and craftsmanship.
Overall fair estate condition, barrel has scattered and very light surface rust rendering it a "brown gun" patina, barrels ring with church bell tone, bores are shiny with light scattered old pitting, very slight colors remain, minimal screw slot damage, stock and forend wood in good condition with small crack behind right lockplate typical of LC Smith stock heads, buttstock finish possesses pickling, checkering pattern is present but worn fairly smooth, forend is lose on the barrel due to worn j-hook, thus not providing the correct tension to keep the forend tight to the barrel.
