Circa 1900, single comb with 76 teeth, serial number 22495 on the metal bed plate, oak cabinet with carved rope decoration; the lid's underside is fitted with "Instructions for Changing Discs" on a large paper card and a distributor's metal plate reading "EVERHART BROS / MUSIC HOUSE / YORK, PA," the bed also carries patent information and further operating instructions; the front of the box is fitted with a mechanism to accept pennies.
Private Collection, Pittsboro, NC and Formerly York, Pennsylvania The box is relatively free of distracting marks; the celluloid plates on the bed and over the penny slot are yellowed and have splits, otherwise an attractive and functional instrument.
