19th century, an assembled piece featuring a southeast Asian silver repousse tray with a scalloped rim, soldered to a hand hammered and raised foot with an apocryphal inscription reading "Said to have been brought from Bristol, England to Charlestown, Mass. in the year 1639, by Richard Russell, marker numbered to base, with (2) crown marks stamped to the rim; the foot and rim acid tests silver, precise content unknown.
