During the mid-20th century, Eldon Willis and Elmer Salter collaborated to create duck decoys that gained widespread recognition for their exceptional craftsmanship and practical design. Their work was shaped by the needs of local hunters in the Core Sound region, who required durable and reliable decoys to withstand the challenging coastal hunting environment. This rare goose is one of the few surviving decoys from their original 1928 hunting rig.
