Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Northern Currituck County, North Carolina, circa 1920s, carved and painted wood.

Length 14 in.

Fisk was a skilled hunting guide and skiff builder who crafted duck decoys primarily for his personal use during the 1930s. His decoys, particularly bluebills, are noted for their resemblance to those of fellow carver John Austin, though Fisk's versions are typically smaller and feature a distinctive V-shaped carving where the bill meets the forehead. Few of his decoys have survived, making them rare and sought after by collectors. One of his bluebill decoys is featured in Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.

Old gunning paint, right side of bill is damaged, hit by shot, working repair to neck.
