Charlestown, Maryland, circa 1880, carved and painted wood.

Length 12.5 in.

Possibly the work of John Graham (1822-1912). Graham was a cabinet maker, guide, market hunter, the towns undertaker, but he still found time to make some of the most iconic decoys to come from Maryland.

Old gunning paint, working repair to the neck on right side.
