Mid-20th century, 3 1/4 in. stainless steel marked PUMA / SOLINGEN / MADE IN GERMANY, scale notches on back of blade, heavy "priest" ball end for dispatching, leather lanyard, original instructions with box.

​The Puma Scale Knife No. 501, also known as the "Waagemesser," is a distinctive fishing knife produced by the German manufacturer Puma. Introduced in the mid-20th century, this multi-functional tool was designed to assist anglers with various tasks. It features a stainless steel blade for cutting, an integrated weight scale for measuring fish, and a rounded end, commonly referred to as a "priest," used for dispatching fish humanely.

Overall good estate condition, ball end has moderate ding on the side, lower portion of box has end tears on each edge.
