This famous photograph by Margaret Bourke-White captures a striking overhead view of hat factory workers in New York City’s garment district in 1930. The perspective highlights the scale of production as well as the repetition and rhythm of industrial labor.

Bourke-White was one of the first female photojournalists and a pioneer in using photography to document American industry and labor. One of the four original staff photographers at LIFE Magazine, she went on to represent the magazine as the first female war correspondent for LIFE during World War II.

Excellent condition; several frame scratches; not examined out of frame.
