England, last quarter 19th century, the first with carved bone and silver mounted handle, brass ferrule unlocks the hidden short sword within a black lacquered shaft (34 1/2 in.); the second with Victorian silver mounted handle "JAS" maker's mark, London (1886) hallmarks, over a snake vertebrae bone shaft (35 1/2 in.); the third having silver mounted handle with foliate patterns and floral rosette, over a carved ebony shaft, appears unmarked (37 1/2 in.).
The sword form with cracks to shaft; vertebrae form missing ground tip; all with some general use wear and denting to mounts.
