Detroit, Michigan, circa 1900, carved and painted wood, glass eyes, owners tag marked J. ROWELL / C. LAKE on bottom.
Length 14 in.
Crafted between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These decoys feature hand-carved wooden bodies with realistic painted details and are distinguished by their glass eyes, which add a lifelike quality to the design. Although part of the factory's standard grade line, the inclusion of glass eyes elevates their aesthetic appeal compared to simpler painted-eye models.
Original paint with moderate gunning wear, hit by shot.
