Early to mid 20th century, watercolor, ink wash, and gouache on paper, with Chinese characters painted to upper register, a very finely painted couple in formal court attire, the husband seated on a tiger skin to emphasize his rank and high status, seated in front of a lavishly painted screen, mounted to a silk brocade and framed below glass.
