A Very Fine Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vase Lamps

Meiji period (1868-1912), two floor vases beautifully hand painted with meticulously detailed scenes of figures gathered around an ethereal female figure to one side and the other with featuring a large image of a horseman warrior, they are a pair, but the decoration is different to each vase, drilled and fitted as lamps in heavy ormolu mounts, with two lightbulb fittings.

HOA 31 1/2 in., Vase only 15 1/2 in.

One with barely visible hairline at the rim, one with chip to the rim, vases not examined outside of the lamp mounts; cords have been severed from base.
