Meiji period (1868-1912), worked in silver wire of varying gauge with four birds, among stalks of vividly colored flowering wild chrysanthemums growing behind rocks on a flowing river bank, two birds perched on the rocks, the reverse with two birds in flight, all reserved on a dark midnight blue ground, the neck and foot with a band of repeated stylized foliate motifs within shield-shaped cartouches, the thick edged rim with flowers and scrolling tendrils, applied with a silver neck and foot rim, jungin (pure silver) mark to foot rim, liner to interior of vase, unsigned.
