I Dewa Ketut Rungun was a Balinese painter celebrated for his vivid depictions of birds and wildlife, rendered in a style that blends traditional Balinese aesthetics with modern techniques. Born in Padangtegal, Ubud, Bali, Rungun was a prominent member of the Pitamaha artists' association, which played a pivotal role in the development of Balinese painting in the early 20th century. Rungun's works often feature lush, densely populated scenes of birds, butterflies, and fish set against rich, natural backdrops.
