He focused on making prints that illustrated the beauty of Japan's natural landscapes with special emphasis on seasonal color and light effects of sunrise, sunset, rain and snow. In this print, his skill is exhibited through the light dancing over the evening water as night approaches. He received the high honor of being named "A Living National Treasure" in 1956 for his contributions to the arts.
