Meiji period (1868-1912), two rectangular shaped boxes lavishly decorated in the
shibayama technique with a myriad of flower blossoms in inlays of shell, one with decoration to cover and box sides (2 x 4 x 2 1/2 in.), the other only decorated to the cover (2 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.), remainder of boxes constructed of rosewood.

Very good condition; dirt and soil to surface.
