Philson tackle boxes were American-made and gained a modest but respected reputation among anglers in the mid-20th century. Produced primarily during the 1940s through the 1960s, Philson boxes were known for their sturdy construction, often using pressed steel with baked-on enamel finishes. These tackle boxes featured cantilevered trays, metal latches, and practical layouts that appealed to both freshwater and saltwater fishermen.

Overall good estate condition, box has loss of paint in areas from use, lures have various amounts of wear from age and use.
