Vulcan Steel barrel with engraving along sides of breaches and muzzles, text of PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. VULCAN STEEL present on matted top rib, single bead, heavily engraved and gold inlay size 0 frame action, extractors, double triggers, automatic safety, checkered Prince of Wales walnut stock with drop points, checkered walnut splinter forend, checkered butt surrounded by steel skeletonized buttplate, engraved silver color stock oval inlet.

Overall excellent estate condition, barrel bluing is very strong with rare places of thinning and one gentle scuff at 9:00 left barrel near muzzle, bores bright and shiny, barrels ring with clear church bell tone, barrel to action fit is tight, barrel engraved with floral pattern along sides of breaches and muzzles, action engraved by Ferlach, Austria engraver Albin Obiltschnig with 90% coverage, solid gold partridge, woodcock, and pheasants adorn the action itself, solid gold partridge adorns the blued and engraved trigger guard, text of PARKER BROS is in gold along the side of the action, SAFE is engraved with gold on the top tang, very minimal screw slot damage present, additional engraving on the forend tip, forend lever and external surfaces of the forend iron, sparsely engraved skeletonized buttplate finishes off a highly figured walnut stock with drop points and clean checkering pattern indicative of a D or C grade gun, splinter checkering is clean and wood has slight figure, stock and forend finishes are healthy and would also benefit from refreshing and care.

Albin Obiltschnig (1894 -1975) was one of the most respected Ferlach, Austrian gun engravers of his time, and father of engraver Hans Obiltschnig. Innovator of relief scene work incorporating Diana, goddess of the hunt which is sometimes referred to in Ferlach as an "Obiltschnig motif."
