The Currituck Inlet Club used a large number of decoy in their hunting operation with a variety of different regions. This roothead goose was made by Joseph Raynor, Sr. from Hampton Bay Long Island for his son who married on of the White daughters. The roothead construction of these wooden geese distinguish them from other local decoys. Three holes in the bottom indicate it was used as a field decoy.
Original paint with light gunning wear, age checks in the body.
