Meiji (1868-1912), 19th century, a bronze cast incense burner using the lost wax method in the form of a
kuzuya thatched roof house, resembles a traditional Japanese tea house, with flowering vines climbing the walls, signed to the underside with seal 琢斎 (Takusai).
5 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 3 in.
This incense burner was made by Honma Takusai I (1812-1891), the founder of the lineage of bronze artisans from Sado Island.
Good estate condition; some wear to edges and patina.
