Karen Savage was an American photographer and educator based in Chicago, best known for her evocative photograms—camera-less images created by placing objects directly onto photosensitive paper and exposing them to light, producing ghostly silhouettes.
In her series featuring children's and doll's dresses, Savage explores themes of femininity, memory, and loss, using translucent garments to symbolize innocence and the passage of time. She taught printmaking and photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for over thirty years, serving as a professor and department chair.
Some background creases, otherwise no visible condition concerns; not examined out of frame.
