20th century, includes a carved sculpture of Guanyin, the bodhisattva of Compassion, seated on a lotus leaf base, she holds a bottle of the elixir of life, shaped pointed aurole rises behind the figure, and a pair of carved soapstone book ends of mottled reddish brown with jardinieres overflowing with flora.

Buddha 9 3/4 x 4 3/8 x 2 3/8 in.; bookends each approximately 5 5/8 x 4 5/8 x 1 3/4 in.

Chip to top, small scattered chips to base, and loss to right side of throne backing of buddha sculpture; small chip to top right corner of one bookend, nicks to rim and base of another, consistent small abrasions and fleabites to both bookends.
