Defense was a frequent champion hunter rode by Peggy Augustus at premier shows in 1950s, such as Devon, Keswick, and Warrenton, and in 1954 he captured the Working Hunter Championship at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden.

Remnants of black enamel to the image, surface scratches and minor rim dents.
