From the Estate of the late Peggy Augustus, Old Keswick, Virginia Defense was a frequent champion hunter rode by Peggy Augustus at premier shows in 1950s, such as Devon, Keswick, and Warrenton, and in 1954 he captured the Working Hunter Championship at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden.
