Edo (1615-1868) or Meiji period (1868-1912), 19th century, very finely carved stag horn with eagle perched atop a lantern staring down at three small monkeys seated on the ground below, set into an ivory circular base signed 民玉 (Mingyoku).

Very good condition; a small break with loss with lower end of one seam on lantern; possible loss to a few ivy leaf inserts.
