Meiji period (1868-1912), 19th century, lovely wooden kimono storage chest, likely made from paulownia (kiri) wood reddish wiped lacquer finish, applied with hand forged iron hardware, includes three long drawers, two short drawers, and a hinged door with lock housing two small drawers where valuables would have been kept, iron handles that lift to the sides for easy movement.




40 1/2 x 37 3/4 x 17 3/4 in.
